The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Walk4Hearing increases awareness about hearing loss, helps to eradicate the stigma associated with it and raises funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss. Since 2006, the Walk4Hearing has raised more than $10 million and has become the largest walk for hearing taking place in cities across the United States. Additionally, 40% of the funds our team raises goes directly to Sound Start Babies Foundation, which is the Program that lgave our family everything we needed to navigate Elaina’s diagnosis. She would not be where she is today if it wasn’t for Sound Start Babies! We walk not only support the HLAA, but to support all of the families with children diagnosed with hearing loss who are just starting their journey. 2-3 out of 1000 babies are born with hearing loss... and over 90% of deaf babies are born to normal hearing parents. These families need support and resources because the majority of them, like us, know nothing about raising a child with hearing loss. Thank you for supporting this great cause and for especially supporting ELAINA and our family!
