Dear Friends and Family,

I am so excited about the walk-a-thon this year! This year will be such a memorable year because this is my last year in high school before I go to college. 

Ever since I was born and diagnosed with hearing loss, many significant events have happened in my life. My family searched everywhere for programs that were a right fit for me, but it was tough. They managed to find the UNC Children's Cochlear Implant Center (CCIC). Enrolling in CCIC brought hope to my family and changed my life. CCIC helped me learn how to communicate and made me the best version of myself. This program has helped prepare me for the future. 

As senior year comes around, I will always remember my time there, and I want to give back to this program. They are still impacting and changing so many other children's lives. 

At the beginning of 2024, CCIC is launching the Mobile Hearing and Speech Clinic program, which will increase access to children with hearing loss in rural areas. To improve access to children with hearing loss, the Mobile Speech and Hearing Clinic will travel the state to provide hearing and speech services. Through this program, their goal is to reach children with little to no hearing access. 

Please help me reach my goal of $10,000 to support this amazing program! Come to the walk-a-thon on October 8th, 2023, at 11 am at the Cary WakeMed Soccer Park!
